Degenerative Disc Disease Treatment in Yorba Linda

Degenerative Disc Disease, also known as DDD, may affect any different part of the spine, though usually will affect the lower back and neck. The findings of DDD are dehydration (loss of water content) followed by narrowed disc space and then bony spur growths called osteophytes.

Younger people can start to show signs of degenerative disc disease without experiencing any symptoms but as the aging process continues, the degeneration process can worsen spinal health and onset spinal stenosis, herniated discs, and sciatica. As the DDD progresses, the narrowing of the space for the spinal cord and nerve roots can start to cause symptoms associated with back or nerve pain. Degenerative disc disease can be caused by trauma, infection or progressing in age.
